Founding team compensation: $300 CAD/month during trial, scaling with the company.
Eden is a calm financial ecosystem that treats money as part of a whole life rather than an isolated spreadsheet problem. It is organized into a small set of realms and is currently pre-launch, in alpha. The product surface is financial; the deeper work is restoration.
You will build the surfaces where craft and code meet, taking Eden’s design language from intention to living interface. You will care equally about the feel of a transition and the structure of the component behind it.
This is a founding role on a small team that values restraint. The best work here is often what you choose not to add: the animation you remove, the state you simplify, the screen that finally feels quiet.
We hire in a deliberate order: character first, alignment second, the capacity to learn and be corrected third, and current skill fourth. We are looking for genuine craft in front-end work, a strong eye, clear communication, and a temperament that builds rather than performs. Depth in React, TypeScript, and modern CSS helps, but who you are and how you think matter more than your resume.
We are not looking for someone who treats design as decoration applied after the fact, who ships inaccessible interfaces and calls them done, or who is uncomfortable receiving direct correction on their craft.
Months 1 to 2 are immersion: learn the design system and the product, and ship one well-crafted improvement. Month 3 brings emerging ownership and your trial review. Months 4 to 6 expand into larger surfaces and beta preparation as the team moves toward launch.
Remote (Africa). Monday to Friday, 9-5 local time. The team spans EST and WAT timezones, async-first with synchronous check-ins as needed. Reports to Founder and CTO.
The team works in Figma, Cursor, GitHub, Notion, and Slack. The stack is Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind, composing from the Aura design system. AI tools are used extensively across the team, so comfort collaborating with AI matters.
Founding compensation is $300 CAD/month during the trial, equal across all founding roles regardless of department or seniority. The trajectory is $300 to $700 to $3,000+ CAD as the company scales after launch, with simultaneous raises for the whole team. Benefits are not available during the founding period and will be introduced after launch and financial stability. Equity is not offered at this stage but may be introduced later with a 4-year vest and 1-year cliff. Paid stages begin at the challenge ($50 CAD) and the trial ($300 CAD/month); the application, resonance conversation, and foundation review are unpaid but bounded in time.
The path from application to trial start runs about four to six weeks across eight stages: application, resonance conversation, foundation review, a paid challenge, a correction loop, a paid trial, the trial review, and appointment. Every application is reviewed regardless of when it is submitted, even after a role is filled, and strong candidates may be redirected to a role that fits them better.
